Constança Duarte (Coimbra, 1994) is an illustrator and ceramicist. She studied visual arts and, after a period marked by some indecision, specialized in Illustration at the The Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto.
Her work explores the tension between the fast pace of daily life and solitude, seeking to “freeze” movement in images populated by imaginary worlds, unusual creatures, and figures with improbable anatomy. She favors analog techniques, where error and uncertainty become an essential part of the creative process.
With a recurring palette of blues and grays, Constança creates burlesque and restless characters, often in transit, who invite us to imagine the narratives they carry. She draws inspiration from urban daily life, people, and cities. Her universe blends humor with the strange, opening up a dimension that is simultaneously poetic and surreal.
Constança showcased the solo exhibition ENTRE TANTO at Apaixonarte in 2025.
